Like many millennials, I turned to reddit for reviews and advice when I found out I needed a new water heater. I read a five-year-old reddit post recommending Caledonian Plumbing and Heating from someone who worked there, commending the quality of their work and the treatment of their employees. It seemed genuine, and I like to think I'm not completely naïve when it comes to astroturfing and digital marketing, so I thought they'd be worth at least getting in touch with while I do the boring, responsible adult thing and requesting quotes from multiple companies.

I sent Caledonian Plumbing and Heating an email this morning. I had a response within 30 minutes, a quote within 40, and a new water heater installed by late afternoon. Every interaction I had was with someone friendly, competent, and professional—from Office Manager to Technician to Owner.

When I mentioned to Grant, the owner, that the reason I went with Caledonian was the old reddit post from 2021, he immediately recalled the name of the former employee who posted it, and seemed sincerely delighted to share that he's no longer working with Caledonian because he's pursuing a PhD in physics. It was a very wholesome and human moment that, along with every other part of the experience, convinced me I made the right choice by giving Caledonian a chance.

Contacted Caledonian about a sewage smell in our house, but also had my furnace break the day they came to do the work, which they also happily helped us with. My partner and I are new home owners, and the Caledonian team made it so much less stressful to deal with by being friendly, calm, and super clear about everything they were doing, seeing, and why it was all happening.

Ian and Dave were the two who did the work for both problems: broken furnace, and fixing our old cast iron sewage stack. They were both so lovely and explained everything that was happening every step of the way. As much as we’d love to see them again - hopefully we won’t have to. ;) 10/10 would recommend!

It was time to update the toilets in our home and we went with Caledonian Plumbing as we've used them in the past for furnace related service. Ian and Tristan arrived right on schedule and worked very efficiently and quickly! Everything was installed very well and they cleaned up everything afterwards. It was as if they weren't even here. They took time to answer all out toilet related questions! Highly recommend Caledonian!

We had just moved into our new house with a laundry list of plumbing jobs. Caledonian fit us in promptly and fixed everything over the span of couple visits. Steven and Dave were both diligent and attentive, stopping to explain things to me in the process. Malissa was also great in responding and following up on emails and appointments. Overall, pricing was very modest. Highly recommend!
