The guy they first sent was in a bad mood. He came up the driveway with a long handle plunger. I said you are going to need more than that. He said he would decide what is needed after he sees what is going on. I was waiting for him so I was trying to explain what was going on. This had been happening for about 8 years and 4 or 5 times during the time we rented, but my son had bought the house about 2 years prior and this was the first time we had to deal with the problem. The property manager always took care of it but never actually fixed the problem. The birch tree in our neighbours yard was about 12 feet from our house. It was a large tree and taller than our 2nd floor house. The branches hung over part of our roof. The property changed hands and we cut about 1/3 of the tree down that was completely hanging over our deck, yard and roof/house. The tree was dieing from severe infestations of tent caterpillars and other boring insect and the new owners noticed after we told them it was dieing and probably causing damage to both homes. They other owners did get someone to give them an estimate to take it down but didn't want to spend the money. The birch tree dropped sappy debris every spring when it flowered and made the whole back yard and entire deck unusable. The sticky debris would stick to barefeet, soles of shoes, your pets feet or anything it touched and then you would find it stuck to your couch, etc.
Our weeping tile has been damaged. We know this because our main drain under the bsmt floor was completely clogged with soil/gravel.
The first guy that came over wouldn't listen to anything I was saying and thought it was a feces clog. He was here for about 30 minutes. He was shortish and curt with me like I was a stupid old lady. I called Clow while he was on the way back to Clow for something he needed. I complained about how he treated me. He came back diagnosed the problem and left. He was not as outwardly snarky but was still quite curt.
The appointment was set up. My bsmt was jack hammered up only to find that the diagnosis was incorrect. The weeping tile is supposed to be the problem not a broken pipe.
No one used the machine I told them was used to clear it the last time we had this problem. Approximately 3-4 days later and just under $5000, a plugged pipe was cleared ........... It was unplugged by cleaning out the pipe not replacing it and my bsmt floor was put back. He couldn't find a broken pipe. We talked and I explained again how it was cleared with this old machine last time. He said he would try clearing the pipe itself again and it worked. He put in a Ptrap, drained the dirty water in the back yard and put the concrete back.
I find it difficult to reconcile the first guy's attitude and the misdiagnosis as coincidental. It cost a lot more than it should have cost in my opinion ........ According to the person I talked to it happens occasionally........
The person that came to do the work was not the guy that diagnosed it. He thought it was a little weird as well. He probably won't say that to his boss but he said it to me......
We are not happy with the whole thing and will probably not get them to do anymore work. Too bad because the 2nd person was really nice but was sent to do a job that was already diagnosed as needing a pipe replaced.....
My previous review was 5 stars.

Had a sump pump failure and with the help of Devin had a plumber at our house and a new one installed and up and running in under an hour. Way quieter than the failed one and pumps the water out much quicker. Great service and peace of mind when and if we ever need them again. Thank you very much!

Their plumbers and technicians are incredibly personable and professional. They call ahead to let you know they’re on the way, which I really appreciate, and you don't mind having them in your house - take off their boots, mindful of your space, and they don't swear or use foul language.
When they arrive, they quickly diagnose the problem and explain what’s going on. They seem honest and knowledgeable, and in our experience they fix the issue.
They also provide helpful suggestions on how to properly maintain your plumbing systems to avoid future problems.
Overall, a very positive experience. I highly recommend Clow Darling to anyone looking for reliable, friendly, and professional plumbing services! (I'm out of town, on septic and well) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I had a time sensative issue and called Clow Darling for assistance. After speaking to the after hours receptionist, they said someone would call me shortly. Within a few minutes, Nathan Steward gave me a call and gave me a suggestion that I had overseen. It worked and saved me a lot of stress. Thank you so much! I would highly reccommend!

I've had no heat for 2 days, it's very cold. I keep being told all their techs are busy with schools and apartment buildings that don't have heat, that no one is talking about on social media for some reason. I hear they used to prioritize No Heat calls and at least drop off a floor heater if they couldn't make it. Do not call Clow in an emergency.

I had an issue where it started with a timer not flushing. a block in the sewage. And the water was flowing back causing an unfortunate mess. when I explained the severity of the situation to Armondo on the phone. He was so kind and understanding and acknowledged my frustration and fear. He was able to get Devin and Truck out to fix my problem. My problem is fixed I think. And I am happy.
I also got a water heater installed. Phil was polite and probably the best tech I have encountered with so far. He even sent a texted video to my husband when they were done so I did not have to try and explain things to my husband later.
