I contacted The Drain Doctor as my kitchen sink was very slow draining and this is who the office at my condo complex said to call. The fellow came out this morning right on time with all of his equipment. He got to work right away with his power snake and cleaned it all out. Was here for about 45 minutes in total. I should have asked what they charge as I was expecting maybe around a charge of $150 to maybe $200. But I was a bit shocked when he wrote up the invoice for $315.00 plus GST and he said that was with the 10% discount for seniors. I paid him with my Visa but have been thinking about it and wondering if I got over charged. I don't think I will be recommending them to any of my friends due to the fact that I feel a little ripped off at the moment. My bad in not asking the price before the work started but I guess it's the old story.......live and learn. Just wanted people to know.

We had a new dishwasher installed and the appliance tech recommended getting our kitchen sink drain lines cleaned.
Had The Drain Doctor come out and James did a terrific job. Friendly, very knowledgeable in what he was doing. Highly recommend James and The Drain Doctor.

I’m extremely disappointed with this company and will not be using their services again. When I called to book the appointment, I was clearly told the maximum hourly rate would be $220. However, when it came time to pay, I was charged $325 for the exact same service.
I spoke with Candice — the same person who gave me the quote — and she was very rude and dismissive. She claimed that the higher rate was due to the use of “special equipment,” something she never mentioned during the booking call. As a customer, you have no way of knowing what equipment is being used or whether it justifies a price increase. I always ask for the price in advance before hiring any service, and I was shocked to be overcharged without warning.
When I tried to explain this, Candice simply insisted she was right and refused to take any responsibility for the misinformation. There was no apology, no effort to clarify, and certainly no concern for customer satisfaction.
I strongly advise others to avoid this company. Their pricing is misleading, their staff is unprofessional, and they clearly do not value transparency or honesty

Had a clog, that turned out to be multiple feet down my kitchen sink. Total time out here was maaaaybe 25-30 minutes. The drain tech guy was polite and efficient, and they came fast, but I am disappointed, in the end, my bill was $515!!!!!!!! WHAT?!!
$240 was an out of city travel charge, I live 30 min to Calgary limits. I can see $100 being reasonable! $240 is just taking advantage of people.
Then minimum 1.5 hour charge at $255 is what it is but still very expensive.
I will never hire them again, simply based on cost. So disappointing.

I am extremely disappointed with this company and will not be using their services again. They charged me a ridiculous $320 for a job that barely took an hour. The worst part is that I had the exact same job done previously, and at that time, I was only charged $240. There was no explanation for the price increase, no additional work done, and no justification for such a steep price hike. It feels like they are just taking advantage of customers.
On top of that, their customer service was not helpful at all when I inquired about the pricing difference. Instead of addressing my concerns, they simply brushed me off and insisted that the price was “standard.” If the price is going to fluctuate so much for the same service, how can customers trust them?
I strongly advise others to avoid this company. They are overpriced, inconsistent, and do not seem to value customer satisfaction. Save yourself the frustration and find a more honest and reliable service provider.
