August 2025 - Disappointed After a Previous 5-Star Experience
Six years ago, I left a glowing 5-star review for Mr. Swirl after receiving prompt, professional, and reasonably priced service. That positive experience was why I didn’t hesitate to call again recently for a leaking faucet repair. Unfortunately, my latest experience was completely different.
I was shocked to receive an estimate of over $900 to repair or replace a simple leaking faucet. I even questioned the technician on-site to make sure there wasn’t some mistake because the amount seemed so excessive for what was clearly a minor repair. The technician was polite and professional, but I ultimately declined the repair because the cost simply didn’t make sense.
The next day, I went to Rona and showed a sales associate a photo of the faucet. They immediately recognized it as one with a lifetime warranty and provided the replacement part free of charge. It took me less than five minutes to install, and the faucet has been working perfectly for the past three weeks with no issues whatsoever.
I find it extremely disappointing that a loyal customer who once praised Mr. Swirl for fair pricing is now left questioning how such an INFLATED ESTIMATE could be given for such a simple repair. Sadly, I can no longer recommend this company in good conscience, as I fear others…especially those unfamiliar with plumbing costs, might approve such quotes without realizing there are much simpler, more affordable solutions.

Terrific service from the first phone call.
David promptly returned my call during the evening and collected all the information for assessing my plumbing needs for my condo in Vancouver (thankfully it was a non-emergency)
I'm located in Toronto and I rent the condo so I had to rely on previous customer reviews and I'm happy to report Mr Swirl IS 'The Friendly Plumber'!
Andrea followed-up the next day confirming all the details and provided an accurate time of arrival. Ken arrived, provided a quote for approval and completed the work promptly. Ken ensured to inspect the completed work and confirmed there was no additional leaks. I hope not to need a plumber again any time soon but if I did I would ABSOLUTELY contact Mr Swirl again - professional, polite, reasonably priced and of course...friendly. Thanks again Mr Swirl team!

Beware of this company, they send a technician to assess a simple job that I ended up doing with another plumbing certified company for a third of the price. After quoting an outrageous price, the proceeded to try to collect $ 87.- for the call (twice the going rate!!)
Totally unacceptable way of doing business. They can go all day long making outraegeous quotes and collecting $ 87.- a call

Our technician was Harmanpreet. A very pleasent guy to talk with. He was professional and on time which I appreciated. He clearly communicated the work that was needed and answered all of my questions. Once the work was completed he asked me to inspect it and it was very well done. His office called me shorty after to take care of the payment. They are very efficient. I highly recommend Mr. Swirl and Harmanpreet Thank you.

We had our kitchen sink back up so we called Mr swirl, the technician they sent, Harjot was very prompt and professional. He did a very thorough job of making sure everything was cleaned and running properly before he left. We would not hesitate to call again if we need more work done.

My experience went wonderfully. I was very pleasantly surprised when the technician arrived one hour before the start of the two-hour window that was initially provided to me. He cleared my kitchen sink and garbage disposal clogs quickly and efficiently, and when it came to fixing the head of my kitchen faucet, he went to the supplier to see if he could get a new head for my faucet. Fortunately, the supplier was only a five-minute (or so) drive away. I got a call from the technician to say that a new faucet head wasn't available separately, so I gladly agreed to have the faucet replaced. Once the technician came back, he replaced the faucet as quickly and efficiently as he fixed the kitchen sink and garbage disposal clogs.

During the process, the technician was good enough to provide a complimentary home inspection. That gave me food for thought on which toilet to get as a replacement, which isn't exactly a low-flow model, and inspired me to put an entry in my calendar to have the garbage disposal replaced when the time comes. He also gave me great advice on clearing garbage disposal clogs in the future, including what not to do.

I got my invoice today and was pleased to see how detailed it is (including photos). Overall, I was incredibly impressed.

Early in February, I found out that Mr. Swirl was offering a promotion on toilet replacements during that month, so I acted on the advice I got from the technician who looked after my kitchen plumbing needs on January 21 and booked an appointment to have my toilet replaced on February 18. Around the start of the two-hour window, I got a voicemail message from the technician who was replacing my toilet, asking if I was still available for the replacement. I returned his call shortly afterwards, assuring him that I was, and he said that he was picking up the new toilet and would be at my place within the hour.

True to his word, he arrived shortly before 11:00 am. He completed the replacement of my toilet within an hour, and I was very pleased with his work and the new addition to my bathroom. I was also pleasantly surprised that I could put the new toilet to use right away, just as long as I didn't kick at the caulking for awhile.
