Bill was amazing in the yard/cut shed. He was incredibly honest and was able to happily advise us on everything we needed.

My builder used this seller for building produce. Essentially I’d say that half qualified me as a customer. But I’m not here to complain about building supplies. That’s not how I was a direct customer. Sure my builder spent $200,000+ at this location but I’d say I’m only your 100% customer for the $70,000 kitchen portion as I was responsible for measurements and selections and what not.

This is where my experience as a customer at Cobourg Rona truly begins. Now I have to be 100% honest here. The way my wife and I were treated over and over again by an extremely unorganized Joanne was mind boggling. I’m not the type to say this but it’s like she forgot where her pay originates! I can confidently say that had my builder not been so in love with the product we would have walked. WE BOUGHT IN SPITE OF JOANNE, not because of. What was really appalling besides her rude behaviour and constantly treating us like an inconvenience when we asked occasional questions was how annoyed she was with us. On top of her annoyed behaviour it was annoying to get push back constantly on minor details. We came to the quote with the exact setup we wanted. Easiest quote ever. Customer currently owns this exact kitchen. Please build it. Nope. Not with Joanne. Take your custom kitchen somewhere they LISTEN!

Let’s fast forward a couple years. Today I had the wonderful experience of enduring Joel the manager (as he told me four times before finally relinquishing his NAME). I was lucky enough to get IMMEDIATE SERVICE as I was the only customer in the store. So it was amazing to get this level of service. Of course, as in most retail establishments, I only had to stand at the customer service yelling hello twice to have anybody come sauntering out from the back stinkin of attitude. As him to check on a past order n guy starts huffing n puffing. Oh I’m sorry to have interrupted nap time in the back and my screams for service disrupted you. God forbid I ask you to look up a past order or do anything that looks like customer service. Sorry you didn’t like being called out when I reminded you that I didn’t wanna “disrupt you as you’re overwhelmingly busy”.

How is big orange eating your lunch? Hmmmmmmm wonder if big shot Joel the manager could tell us that?

I put up with a lot from this store and now it’s time to reach out to the owner so he knows how people are treated in his establishment and I’ll be reaching out to corporate and the district GM.

I am leaving 1 star only because you have to. We have been to this store a few time's now and the service is always the same…. Rude , unhelpful and they always seem to be put out when you ask for help. I asked for the manager one day and to be quite honest he was the worst , so I guess it stems from the top. We now go to the Port Hope location and or Home Hardware and are treated quite well!

Very poor service and selection of products. Prices too high. Eg shower pan liner $75.00, I payed $35.00 elsewhere. WOW big difference.
Staff needs to be more welcoming acknowledging each person that walks into the store. That greeting goes a long way, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff generally have a great impact on your business.
That's just my personal experience working in retail sales years ago.
